3M's stock just went up...

So... when I was looking at the beautiful orangey redish color of OPI's The Show Must Go On! it somehow reminded me of the japanese flag with the sun on it.  After I did a little research I actually found out that it's the war flag of the imperial japanese army.  Fancy that.  And here it is, thanks to the lovely Wikipedia:

Don't ask me how I made the connection because honestly, I have no idea.  But I did.  And because of that and a slight obsession with Jane's serious tape mani skills I had to give it a try on my nails.  And I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out. :)

PS:  I can't seem to get my comments to work but I wanted to say a special THANK YOU to my one and only subscriber Kelly.  You can view here AMAZING blog here.  (I might have done a little happy dance when I saw she subscibed)

The Show Must Go On!

I have been wayyyyy too busy!  And you know you're too busy if you don't have time for your nails.  Period.  The end.

I apologize in advance for the poor condition of my nails in these pictures.  But considering this mani was on for 3 days and survived a night of bowling, pool, and drinking - I don't think it looks so bad!
On a side note:  Bowling, pool, and drinking all look way better with pretty nails. :)

Base:  CND Stickey
Color:  OPI The Show Must Go On! - 3 coats
Top:  Seche Vite

It is much easier to tell in the bottle but this polish is a slight duochrome. It ranges from an almost dark fuchsia-ish color to a burnt orange-ish color.  I was really trying to capture the goldenish orange color in these pictures.  It's just so beautiful!

Oh what a day! What a Nfu Oh day!

Ugh!  Today was a loooooooong day!  It started out with nothing going right.  The cat wouldn't cooperate.  I couldn't find my keys.  Even the weather wouldn't clear up.  Luckily I had done my nails up in a beautiful purple the night before!

Base:  CND Stickey
Color:  China Glaze Coconut Kiss - 3 coats
Top:  Seche Vite

And can I just say... Coconut Kiss???  Really?!  What could you possibly get from this wonderful purple that would make you think of coconuts?  Honestly?!?!  Has the world gone mad?!

Anyways, so I was saying, I was having a bad day.  But what really turned my day around was what was waiting in the mail.  :)  Nfu Oh 51, baby!  That's right!  I was so excited I almost peed myself.  So I went ahead and layered it over the purple and when I put it on... I died a little.  In a good way.

Layer:  Nfu Oh 51 - 1 coat
Top:  Seche Vite

Mmmmm, flakie goodness.  I am convinced that this polish could make anything better.  So I guess what I'm saying is, all in all my day actually turned out pretty good.

Green on Green

I thought this turned out really well!  Although for some reason in the pictures you can see a MILLION tiny mistakes that you can't see in real life.  Promise.  And don't look at the cut on my finger!  I have no idea how that happened.  :-(

  • Base Coat:  OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape - Matte (Since it's a matte I sandwiched 3 layers with CND Stickey base coat)
  • Plate:  Bundle Moster - BM19
  • Stamp Color:  China Glaze - Tree Hugger (I also used this for the tips)
I just love the subtle difference between the matte of the OPI and the shimmer of the CG. <3

First Post!!!

I have been working on my nails all night and can't wait to take a picture.  But it'll have to wait until morning.  Good night!
